I replaced both of the headlight seals, old seals cracked, I thought I received the wrong seals but they fit, a little tricky at first but they will go on with some patience of course.
Changed both of the fender turn signal seals, light housing and installed the LED bulbs. update: I do use an led flasher relay, these lights do work but for an unknown reason they affected my rear led turn signals, so I’m using the original style blinker bulbs until I can find a solution.
I added the new hood seal, this isn’t the original style seal but I like the way it looks.
I ordered a set of the rubber grommets for the trim on the front hood project, so today I decided to remove the rest of the trim to see the condition of those rubber grommets and their missing, so I cleaned up the area and replaced them all.
The front end had been wrecked at some point, I replaced all the new bolts and hardware to get the old bumper back on, either the bumper is bent or the front end isn’t aligned correctly but either way the bumper is much more firm now. I just need to clean and polish it now.
The next project on this 62 bug is the front bumper, it’s a little hard to tell from this photo, but, it’s not mounted on all the way, I ordered all the new bolts, rubber grommets, and mounting brackets. The bumper needs to be completely removed, cleaned, polished and remounted. Just waiting for the parts […]
All block sanded and ready for paint.
Hood trim cleaned and polished, new Wolfsburg crest.
The painter sent me this updated image of the bug hood with the primer on it.
This is the current project on the 62 bug, The wrong hood was installed at some point and it’s now being corrected.
